I actually got the 3500 because of the width! I have an 8 ft wide flatbed, which is almost wide enough to handle 2 rows of hay bales with very little overhang. I routinely put 50 to 60 bales on the bed (about 4500 to 5500 lbs depending on the bales). The extra track width makes it a bit more stable with that load stacked way up there...

It's not always about what you "need", I don't need a 3500 to pull my 3 horse trailer, I don't need 3 horses, don't need 3 dogs and 2 cats, didn't need to post this message either, I just wanted to.

I "wanted" a truck to pull with so why not get the biggest baddest there is, the 3500 4x4. I knew if I settled for the 2500 that every time I saw a dually I'd be kicking myself in the a$$.

You only go around once, get what you want and be happy:) Now I gotta get back to work and pay for the dang thing:eek:

Biggest, baddest, blackest Dodge built in 2000.

3500 QC 4x4 SLT + (missing 2 options) Sport Package & Snow Plow.

There is nothing like towing a tag car trailer with training wheels:D

Nothing against our "wheel challenged" brothers, but why does everybody always compare there 3/4 ton to 1 tons by saying "there the same". ;) I know the axles & brakes started in 2000 to be the same--but its all Attitude!!!! :D

I plan on ordering my 3500 Quad cab 4x4 ETH/DEE Patriot Blue truck this summer. For me it will be cheaper because if I got a 2500 Quad 4x4 I'd HAVE TO lift it 4. 5" and add 35's and add a bunch of other stuff I don't need. Besides the 3500 4x4 looks awesome right from the factory.

I went with the 3500 since it was only $1500 more than a 2500. At the time I wasn't sure I'd like a diesel, and the 3500 would be easer to sell. After 14,000 miles there is no way I'm selling it, this thing rocks.

I had a '97 2500 and traded it in for a 2001 3500. :D The 2500 auto was a great truck but the 3500 tows my 33' TT much better. The milage on the new truck is not as good as the '97 but what would you expect with 60 more HP. Love my truck!!!
