Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) how many amps

I'm going camping next week for 5 days in Maine,running a small generator for lights/radio. Would like to plug in my truck but not sure of the amps needed to run the heater. .

block heater draws 7 amp that includes a 20% safety factor

I just measured the draw on my 2000 truck. The meter fluctuated between 5 and 6 amps.
