Super nice truck! I like it.

Now all you need is 3/8" chrome plated carriage bolts for the bumper holes and it will be nicer than mine!
Thanks Matt. The balloons, er, eh, I mean 315/70R17's (load range D's) that I put on really make it look different in person. They're huge -- much bigger than the pics. Makes the truck ride really soft. I see now why the 265/70R17's are load range E's -- they ride like rocks by comparison. I'd feel safer with heavy towing with the factory 265/70R17 LR E's. My next mod is electronic power enhancement (Triple Dog probably) and am considering the Geno's Garage straight pipe and intake mod... .

Cool. . I hear that is a good one, did anyone ever establish if the new one actually uploads your stock programming (including any dealer flashes) for later download or if its like the old one that uploads just you specific year calibration?

:-laf :-laf Mirrors and headlights are the same, probably just the difference in time of day I took the photos. Good idea for my next mod on the interior but it will be brushed aluminum Oo.

So that leaves just one change left, well actually 2Gen3Gen got it 1/2 right so just 1/2 left. :D

Matt --

I spoke at length with Cody who is the technical lead at Bully Dog. He told me that the unit comes with the latest code from DC. The Triple Dog is the only unit that supports G56 equppied 2005 models. The regular Power Pup doesn't support the G56 but will work with other 2005's.

Regarding updates of the DC factory code -- Apparently if there are updates, they will (supposidly) be available for download from BD in addition to the upgraded power settings code bases.

Regarding model years -- I don't believe it's safe to flash one year's code to the next year unless the later year's code is officially certified to work on the older vehicle. For instance, I wouldn't flash the 2005 code on a 2004. 5 unless it's known that the 2005 code is compatible with the 2004. 5 hardware. If it's not, it may disable a needed feature, throw off the timing of something or just break something.

That kinda bugs me because I think they mis represent themselves then. The way its worded is that the downloader uploads "your" OEM program.

The OEM's make changes to software all the time for various reasons, either a fix for a particular symptom listed as a TSB or simply an enhanced version not even listed as a TSB. This brings in the phrase- if its not broke don't fix it. I wouldn't want to load in software while going back to stock that wasn't exactly what was in there.

Thats good news and maybe it could be weeded out whats what but I would think it would be better if they offer those updates separately and also dated with DC release dates for user selection if you want to try one.

Agreed, I was just saying that I don't like the idea of loading back in a 2005 code someone else has decided it should be vs what was actually in there.

The billets are standard on all Rams.

The 2004 and 2005 SLT's come standard with the chrome outer section and chrome cross with a black honeycomb grille filling the 4 large openings.

The Laramie (sport also?) comes with the billet style filling the 4 openings standard.

I had to buy the LARAMIE grill. Mine and all the other SLT's were not standard on the lot wher I bought. All other dealers were the same thing. You must have some other info that is not true.
