Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) How many cranks does it take your truck to fire?

i just look at me key and...

You know, I've always wondered about this. I've heard the newer trucks (anything newer than 1st gen) and they always take about a second or two. With mine, I just tap the key into the start position and imediately let go. I never knew what my starter really sounded like until my injection pump went out. It literaly takes nothing at all to start this engine. Is that because of the rotary style pump? Why do those start faster?

When I replaced all three soft lines I used USCG approved diesel line from a marine supply place. Also, change the fuel preheater screen and gasket. The gasket degrades over time.
