Just ran into this on the web. Thought you all would get a kick out of it :)

How many forum posters does it take to change a lightbulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

5 to flame the spell checkers

3 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

Here on this site or here in this forum? I don't see it much on this site but anyone who travels the forums has seen something similar.

Here in this forum because it's the "other" forum. This is where all the usless, humorus, and off topic stuff get's posted :)

What's wrong with you? Don't you have any social conscience whatsoever? Do you have any idea how much electricity those bulbs are gonna waste? Now the evil energy industry will have to fire up another coal-fueled power plant just to keep your inefficient light bulbs lit. That means emissions - sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen. Hey, we'll all probably die, and it's gonna be ALL YOUR FAULT!! #@$%!

Why didn't you buy fluorescent replacements instead?? :-{}

Jumbo Jet said: I just purchased 6 150 Watt Soft White bulbs from Lowes. Does this mean I am my own warranty station?

Lowes!!! thats like buying a ford... . you'll have nothing but problems with those. my ford works as a ford tech so being in the industry he would know.

please use the search function on this site before srating a new post the has been discussed numerous times and ends in the moderators stopping the tread. WE do not need more wars over light bulbs (lightbulbs)

That would be LAMP not light bulbs / lightbulbs. :-laf

I have some 150 watt lightbulbs but I'm not happy with their performance. Is there a way I can BOMB these. I'd like to get 300-350 watts

What about reliability issues??

1000W metal halide grow lamp... now, what you are trying to grow is none of my consern though... ;)

I have a 3 separate degress in illumination engineering from 5 major universities and I can tell you that you're all morons. Do any of you really believe anything you're posting? Your posts are so ignorant and stupid that they're not even worth taking the time to apply my extraordinarily superior intellect to respond. Why don't you all just leave the TDR altogether and don't think about coming back until you've taken the time to get an education.

I am so sick of uneducated morons posting garbage about light bulbs all over the internet.

[This was a hard post to make, even as a joke! I'll never understand how people can make posts like this and actually be serious!] :-laf
