Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) How many gallons is my stock tank?

I have a 2001 dodge quad cab 4x4 and i was wondering how many gallons my stock gas/diesel tank is ? and how many gallons do i have left when my gas light goes on? it usally goes on about a 8th of a tank left is that about right?

If it is a long bed it is rated for 35 gallons. When my light comes on I can useally get about 27 to 29 gallons in.

If it is a short bed it will hold 34 gallons, I have been able to put 34. 5 filling it all the way to the nozzle. It tells you everything in the owners manuel

Hmm. I thought the long and short bed used the same tank. Never read the owners manual :-laf

I've got the same year and it is a long bed. I was told it was a 35 gallon tank by the dealer. I gave them my vin and they printed out a list of what features my truck came with. I usually fill up when the light comes on. I top it off and get 27-28 gallons.

that werid i fill up when my light comes on and it only takes around 25 gallons its a short bed by the way
