Picked up my new truck last night. While going over the truck with the salesman, noticed 1/8 tank of fuel. Asked the salesman don't you fill tanks when you deliver a $45,000 truck? He said DC doesn't pay for that any more.

I thought I have read on here that some dealers still fill tanks

Full tank here.

You would think if you paid $45k you would have got a full tank, they must have made some money on your truck, that seems way high for a 4X2.

Well, I guess I should have said the Truck listed for $45,330. 00. I got it for employee price around %4 under dealer cost. Around $38,600. But the dealer still made his holdback & whatever DC reimburses them!!

I'm not voting since I bought my truck used but even my dealer gave me half a tank of fuel.

I'm just guessing but I would suspect that DC never paid for it, that it is a dealer thing. When we bought my wife's Rubicon they filled it up for her and then a week or so later she returned a survey to them and they filled it up again for her taking her time to fill it out and return it (she made sure she was dang near empty when she did that!)

After a couple of hours of beating up the salesman, I got my 04 Laramie for about 32K. When we finally agreed on the price, the sales manager came out from behind the curtain like the great "OZ" and said he wanted to shake my hand. He told me I got "all there wuz outta this deal" and told me if I insisted on them filling up my truck, he would cancel the deal. May have been pulling my leg a little but made me feel good.

The Dealer filled mine up at there cost if you look at your window sticker you even paid DC for the 10 gallons they put in it at the factory. The sticker says something like 10 gal fuel surcharge. So I asked the dealer what that was and he said DC charges for the fuel they put in it.

I picked up my first ctd in june of 02 with the tank full to the top!! I have sold this truck, but i figure it was the least they could do after i spent $37,000. !!!

Bought my truck in March, came with full tank of fuel. Filled out a survey for them that came in the mail, getting a free oil change and lube service. Bought a used Jeep Wrangler from them last year, came with a total detailing inside/out, car care wax and cleaning gift pack, and a full tank of fuel. I have never purchased a vehicle new or used that did not come with a full tank of fuel, and believe me I have bought a lot of vehicles since the 60's when I started driving. Many of the dealers I have bought from have included lots of additional benefits like free lube jobs, oil changes, annual detailing, and almost all do a wash job after servicing.

Mine was filled, however I think they fill them with the key on so they can stop as soon as the guage hits the "F" Cause I got about 150 more miles out of my second fill up than the one that the truck came with.

Paid $36,600 for mine and they attempted to fill the tank. Of course, the salesman had no idea that at 28 gallons when the pump clicked off there was still room for another 6-7 gallons. That is one of the few things my salesman didn't screw up. Of course, fuel as what $1. 80-1. 90 at that point?

My 05 was filled and I didn't have to ask for it. My 95 was also filled and when I sold it , I filled it and washed it. Of course it only cost me $50. 00 to fill it in Nov 04. That really impressed him.

Full tank.

I had to fill it myself at a local station charged to the dealer's account but it was because I was picking it up on X-mass eve right off the hauler and didn't want to wait untill after new years.

I bought mine used over the phone and drove over 8 hours to pick it up. When I arrived at the Dodge dealership the truck had only 1/8 tank of fuel, and according to the little window sticker was 800 miles overdue for an oil change. Considering the distance that I had traveled to buy the truck, I let them know that this was unacceptable, and that I was ready to leave my deposit behind and drive back home empty-handed.

They suddenly changed their attitude and agreed to fill up the tank, but they didn't have a technician available to change the oil since it was a Saturday and service was closed. They did offer to reimburse my costs to have the oil changed later at my choice of locations. Naturally, I had my local Dodge dealer change the oil to the tune of $70, which was fully reimbursed. :)
