How many got Dealer Fill up on new truck?

Lets face it, buisness is buisness, DC is not shipping with full tanks, dealers don't always employ the smartest of people. Not to mention they dont' sell gas or diesel, they sell cars, so if they send "tommy boy" to the pump for every new car to get gas that adds up quick, 100 cars 12 gals each 1200 gals X $3 comes to $3600 + tommys pay check to buy gas all day + lets face it tommy might get hit or hit someone at the gas station "Doh" So from an owners point of view if I can sell 50% of my cars with what ever is in the tank I save $1300 for every 100 cars, and most people will just forget or not notice if they dont' have a full tank.



Now when I got my Dodge from DSM, I made a coment as long as it has a full tank of fuel I'll buy it, and the sales manager moned and complained about it but it was full when I drove away.

Went to pick up my new Laramie and saw the tank was nearly MT. I commented about the "cheap sucker"to the sales mgr who gave me a voucher for fuel. The pump read right at $100 when it shut off.

They told me the same thing. I got 1/4 tank. This was in Phoenix in June when it

was around $3. 20/gal.

I bought mine in Oct 04 and dad just got his 06, both had full tanks. Thanks Tomeygun and Lou Fusz.

No full tank here. I bought my truck with friends and family discount. Paid 32K for a 40K sticker.

They gave me $38 worth. Strange number. Gave another $10 when I had to go back for the floor mats. They took them out so they didn't get swiped. Must be a floor mat bandit in Moncks Corner.

I had my sales lady at the the dealer at 1:30am waiting for me to get back from corona,ca and she gave me the company gas card to top off cause it only had 1/8 tank. Only if I had gas cans with me.

We haggled with the dealer for a about 10 minutes told them what price i would pay they came back with a counter offer gave them the keys and started to walk out... called me back and gave me that price, plus wash, plus full tank and an oil change

Dealer Fill Up?

I was at a dealer yesterday and wanted to test drive one off their lot, I noticed the empty fuel tank light was on, salesman said "I guess we better not take it out, might harm the engine if it goes empty, "says I", "cant we get some fuel in it?, salesman replies "only if you put a deposit down", "says I"

"Well, have a good F**in day" (in english I think that means Adios')

when I bought my 2006 got free running bards,eletric tow mirrors,bedliner, and a full tank of fuel and a good deal. Oo.

I have a good repoure with my Dealer and it pays off, Iv'e been dealing with him the last 9 years.

Full tank on all 3 of the ones in my signature, each vehicle was from a different dealer, guess up here they don't like repeat customers as I gave them all a chance for me to buy from.

I was very surprised that my dealer filled it up. Most of the other cars and trucks I have gotten over the last decade wont do it with out negotiating. Not only that, my truck did not come with tow hooks, but they were on the sticker. They ordered them and the salesman brought them to my house! I could of had them install them but I wanted to make sure install was correct. (come to find out, They delete the tow hooks when the plow package is ordered. )

92 and 03 came with full tanks. The 96 did not but I received a check in the mail a month later for more than full tank at the time (~$30 if I remember right) since the dealer did not have a diesel station close and had not filled tank.

I'm guessing it depends on how good a deal you struck with your dealership. My dealer siphoned fuel out of the tank before giving it to me!! Ha!! Anyway, an '06 quad cab Larime pkg, manual with ALL the bells and whistles for $34K. (Even has the rear fenderwell liners). At that price, I'll pay the first tank.
