Proceeded to grease my front end this morning. Only found 2 grease fittings. I guess the rest is 'lifetime lube'.

How many fittings should I find and where? The shop manual doesn't help.

Incidentally checked the lift pump. At 22k it had 15. 5 at idle and 8. 5 at WOT. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Al,

The number of grease fittings depends on so many things that you might not get a meaningful answer here. My '95 has five steering fittings while my 2000 has only one.

The 2000 truck also has a fitting at the top of each kingpin. Your truck may also. I don't remember if the '95 has those or not.

You will have to hunt until you find them all.

Good luck.

The number of grease fittings has varied (read decreased) over the years. If your 2001. 5 Ram is a 4x4, your fitting locations will be identical to the fitting locations on my model year 2000 4x4 Ram: one at each wheel on the upper ball joint and one on the driver's-side end of the track bar. The steering linkage has zero.

My 1999 2500 2wd has one on each steering joint (5 locations I think) and one on top of each ball joint for the suspension.
