Getting my 1/2 ton inspected today and couldn't believe how many miles I drove this year. Almost exactely 16.5K on it and 12K so far on the '07 for a grand total of 28,500 miles. I expected to drive more this year, but I didn't realize it would be this much.

I know that many of you do a lot more miles than I do. How many have you gone this year?

Bought Hoopty at the end of April with 95,000 miles on the clock. Did the second 10,000 mile service Sunday afternoon with 115,968 showing. I do 35,000 miles per year at least just getting to work and back. Probably 5,000 miles more on the two CTD trucks annually.

Seems like the trip gets longer every week....

Your trip sounds a lot like what my brother-in-law does. I think he averages something like 130 miles a day.

When I was shoeing horses for a living, I averaged 36K miles per year. I don't keep track anymore but I'm guessing it's about 20k now as I drive to northern Ca quite a bit.

That's just about the same, depending on odometer variances between all of the vehicles I have used in 19 years it is between 124 and 130 per day.

I purchased my truck in April of 04. I've averaged just under 39,000 a year sense then. Add on about 20,000 for the Jeep and GTO my wife drives.

I work out of 3 different buildings now so my drive can vary from 40 miles round trip up to a little over 100. None of the drives are bad thankfully.

I don't have a bad drive traffic wise. The weather is a whole other story. Raining and 33 degrees, starting to freeze on the windshield.

In the last 16 months I have averaged 2125 miles per month on the 2010 "Ruby-Sue" Forester.
My wife has about 16,000 miles total in that same time period, or another 1000 miles per month on
her car.

I guess we're the "low mileage winners"... roughly 3,100 miles on my wife's Honda and just under 1k miles on my truck so far this year. My commute the last 5 years before retirement was 90 miles round trip plus business travel at work which ran up the miles. I don't miss it!

I average about 2500 miles a year lately. Highest year was about 58000 back in the mid '80s. Average over the past 34 years is about 18000/year. Total miles put on my own vehicles is just over 600000--289000 on my Dodge P/U since I got it new 10/97. (I used to like driving around the country. Now, I despise travelling.)

Back when I was commuting to Manhattan, I'd average about 16-18,000 a year. Now my world is about the size of a small county, and the hamster wheelin I do now is about half that. Ditto for my wife. We do log time due to traffic though.
I work with a bunch who commute far. A small faction do NYC to the Pocono mtns in Penna. It's ~85 mi trip. The mileage winner is one guy with an early 2000's Chevy cobalt. Last check in the summer he had over 400,000 on it. I know he does hub bearings in a lunch hour and gets 6 weeks avg. he just keeps changing them and sending nasty emails to the various manufacturers.

Since both I and the DW are retired now we do not put on the mileage like we use too. I just put a little under 10,000 miles on the truck this year and 8,700 on the wife’s VW. 3,600 miles of this year’s mileage on the truck; was our trip out east this year pulling the camper.
