EGT’s running higher

177,000, original everything except hubs , ball joints , ujoints, steering upgrade, I run auxiliary fuel tank with Baldwin filters, I pull trailer for disaster relief and 80% of miles are towing, I always put fuel in auxiliary tank and transfer through filters into main tank and every 3rd fill up I run marvel mystery oil, I have a bully dog triple dog on tow settings since it was new, haven't had ant trouble yet, I did change out dual mass clutch system at 125,k for single disc system, what is failing symptoms of injectors?, Thanks, Monte

Great as I am at 189,000 on the injectors and just changed my original ball joints at 268,000. Both upper an lower, new rack and pinion as well. Have always wanted a smarty tuner for towing our camper (8000lbs) butwas afraid it would cause problems. Am reconsidering this now.

2004 SRW Quad, NV5600,Edge CTS2 w/ pre-turbo EGT- nv5600 temp-lift pump pressure, banks hi-ram and intercooler, 4” exhaust Mbrp and FTE resonator, PAcbrake, Modulite trailer light installed. 268,000

Monte, at around 219,000, she started to smoke white when first cranked. I started trying to clean up the injectors with Diesel Kleen. Within about 3 months she started to run rough and blow black smoke after warm-up. Without goofing around, I immediately drove to my diesel mechanic and ordered a set of new Bosch injectors which he installed along with new feed tubes. As soon as I got her home I installed a GDP Mk-II filter system with a Donaldson P-551313 filter and larger feed lines. When I fill up, I only fill my auxiliary tank and it gravity feeds to a Cat 256-8753 water-separator before going to the OEM tank. I later added a dual fuel pressure gauge which allows me to monitor the fuel pressure before the primary filter, a Baldwin P-7977, and again just before the CP-3. Probably a little bit of over-kill but I can see the pump pressure on the LP, and I can insure that I have a minimum of 5 PSI at the CP-3. Any differential that I see between the two needles on the gauge represents the filtering media being plugged either at the primary or Mk-II. I change the primary at 15,000 and the water-separator and Donaldson around 22,500. After buying the injectors and going through that hassle I swore that I'd do the utmost to avoid that experience again.

Thanks Ed, so far I'm good , I have run double filtration since nearly new, I did install an Airdog pump once , but that failed in less than a year, went back to intank pump, and truck still running strong, Thanks again for the input, I'll keep it in mind for future use, Monte

I finally got fed up with the no start condition , so I just bit the bullet and replaced mine last week with new Bosch +50’s . Wow , what a difference . Love the increased smooth acceleration.

Would it be possible to get hour meter readings as well?
For those who don't know, it's key on engine off, then immediate push in the oddo/trip and hold till hours display.

Since I am in the city, I'm only 128,658 but have 4707 hours.
I'd really like to hear the hour meter readings on the high mile rollers.
