took home 10/11/03 now have 7k miles absolutely no problems I can't believe the quality of this truck.

About 55K since 3/18/03, about 16K are pulling a loaded trailer grossing over 28K pounds and another 16K are pulling the 8600lb trailer home empty.

I beleive:

That milage on a vehicle should be looked at in terms of number of gallons burned by the engine. If you run empty all the time and get 21 MPG, your engine must be under very little load, therefor the friction on the bearings and pressures on the cylinders and valves are minimized and the engine should last longer. If you are like me, and drop the mileage to 6-7MPG, you are obviously straining the he!! out of the engine and are doing more wear. Sooo considering the number of gallons of fuel I have burned, I have probably put the equivelent to 125K on my truck. Grossing 38 to 39. 5K every weekend is hard on one.

Do the miles come off when you back up with these new digital odometers?

I know on the old vehicles, you could plow out a 10 acre parking lot and end up with no additional miles put on the truck because they would come off backing up.

51,000 miles on my '03 3500 DRW since Labor Day 2003. All towing (Empty weight is around 18,100--and payload is up to 17,500--total of up to 36,000!). Only problems:

1) Driver's seat is about as comfortable as a bed of nails.

2) I Really feel the need for a gear between 5th and 6th at around 55 MPH.

For those of you who are wondering, l consider my maintainence meticulous, if not by "Dodge Specs" -- I change (and analyze) oil every 15,000 with perfect results thus far. No power adders (Yet).

All in all--this has been the best truck I've ever owned.
