PROUND CTD OWNER. Towed a FURD!!

Ford owner needs advice

Like 400+RWHP? Please include mods and failures other than clutch/transmission woes. Tell us about engine problems if any--blown turbos, gaskets, etc.

I'm just at 300+ but will say that I have 8 or 10k with the DDUFM only. It got heebity jeebity at one time and I fixed it by pulling the Blue Chip cover and redoing it and all the other connections.

66K on the truck.

That is going to be a hard question to answer for a lot of people because they are always adding a little more and a little more. I started 20k ago with ez then 15k ago 275's then 7k ago comp then 2k ago dd2's so now I maybe close to 400rwhp. The only problems I have had at all with the engine are IAT sensor and the EPS/crank sensor... O yea I keep getting this cronic low power problem :D I keep fixing it but it creeps up on me again and again!! This truck also had a box on it early in life like 10k for about 10k then ran stock for 40k miles while I was in remishin but then I relapsed.

TOTAL MILES 86k and change

102,000 miles on my '01. It dyno'ed yesterday at 501 HP. I've had it at this level of power for over 60,000 miles.

I run it in level 6 on the TST Powermax 3 Competition box, ALL the time.

A few lift pumps died an agonizing death. No other problems except for a few Dodge parts.

Level 6!!!

Dang Briar!!! All the time????

I have the PM3 Competition with PDR and DD injectors, etc. etc. , and hardly every turn my PM above 0. I keep it off or on 0 unless I want to have fun and smoke some tires, diesel, import, mustang... fill in the blank.

I've never dyno'd, but am guessing over 400 hp based on quarter mile runs, and cars I've out run.

Mileage: 123,000.

3 dead lift pumps, one NV4500 (thanks Standard Trans), and two turbos.

I've got 178k on my 97 right now. I started with a #8 TST plate Right after I bought it new in Nov. 96. In the last year, I went with 215's & 3K GSK, & a Dave Goerends 3d-TC. No problems at all, except for rear end carrier bearings went out. Still gets mileage in the low 20's on a trip. The other day I had to replace my heater grid relays, one shot craps, & was getting hard to start, back to normal now. That's been about it for repairs. I got 300 HP/700 torque at 2200 RPM on the dyno, in locked up "D" but have since slid the plate full forward, so might have gained a little more. I don't abuse it, but it's there when I need it. Driving it KC-Jacksonville, Fl again next week, it's my weapon of choice for highway travel.

70k on mine,50k bombed miles, from 300hp to the present 396rwhp. engine has held up fine(1 lift pump). I'm on my 2nd SB clutch, should have bought the 13" OFE to begin with,Peter is A. O. K. though and helped out on my upgrade when he didn't have to. Other than that I am amazed what these drivelines can with stand, including clutch drops at 2000 rpm  ... Doug

170,000 and no problems other than these funky clutches that dont hold and I keep having to add fuel all the time. Of course the 5th gear thing but that wasnt the 415hp, just DCs crappy parts.

3000 miles VA went in. 20,000 miles DTT transmission upgrades done. DDII's went in the same day. A week later Drag DDUFM went in. 23,000 miles HX 40. I drive like a jackass... ... 5x5 everyday. 250 foot burnouts are a common thing. This truck is way cool!!! I now have 50,000 miles with no failures. KNOCK ON WOOD.

5x5 everyday... ... ..... In California..... :--) I am surprised that you are able to get anywhere without the HP pulling you over.

At 20,000 miles 300 injectors, HX-40, 380cc's of delivered fuel, Mitchell clutch. Thanks Ted!

At 40,000 miles added propane and another 100cc's of fuel- first blown head gasket. Marine head gasket, head ported/polished, valves re-seated No more LP

At 62,000 miles twin turbos (Feb or Mar of 2001), installed 370 injectors (Piers), 2 clutches (started racing) and 2 manual transmissions.

At 86,000 miles installed auto transmission

At 90,000 miles installed the current set-up of twins, o-ring, copper gasket.

At 96,000 miles welded forward gears together in Atlanta on transmission.

At 110,000 miles put marine gasket back in and turned truck's power down.

My first dyno was 210 hp, my last was 606 my highest was 613 and I never dynoed after I re-tuned the engine in late June 2002, but going by my 1/4 mile times I was around 670+ hp.

I now have 114,000 miles and have been over-stock for 94,000 miles!

Wade:

My truck currently has 186,000 miles on it. My most recent

dyno reading was 441 H. P. /1228 Torque @ the Scheid Rally

back in September. Highest H. P. reading I ever had was

508 H. P. /1311 Torque back in September 2001 @ Scheid

Rally. I had the fuel "turned back" due to high EGT's while

towing our racing trailer.

All my "mods" are listed in my signature below.

Failures????

At 155,000 miles I blew my head gasket. Other than

that, no serious engine/transmission problems. I run

the truck HARD!! (Just ask a few of the guys who posted

in this thread:D ). I dyno the truck alot, regularly tow

heavy loads and "have my foot in it" all the time!!

I have 200,000 on my truck. I got my truck at about 179,000 The dowel pin hit me bad at 180,000 and I was puttin about 387hp to the ground then and my mech said w/ all the fuel I am putting in there I might want to go ahead and rebuild it. So i got it rebuilt. Now I got over 500hp and stuff is breaking. My Con OFE is slippin. I broke a motor mount the other day, and I just blew my head gasket. Of course, my 35 degrees of timing might have a little to do w/ that. I think I am going break more stuff no doubt.

Installed DD3's & EZ at 12K miles, South Bend Con FE at 18K, upgraded EZ to drag Comp at ~25K miles. Just dynod last weekend at 439 HP with comp on 5x5 :D

I drive fairly conservatively everyday, comp usually on 2x3. With comp turned OFF, but still plugged in I dynod at 344 horse last weekend, so 2x3 is I would guess right around 380 - 390 horses.

Only problems:

1 lift pump DOA at 45K miles.

Adjustable boost elbow went south at ~47K miles.

Absolutely no other problems, with anything... .

Well. . except that I can't shift the darn transmission fast enough to make good 1/4 mile times at the track  :-laf

Oh, and down in the part of CA where Greg Boardman lives, the only thing that sees his burnouts are cactuses. 29 stumps is precisely in the middle of no-where

That is true Tom. Except for the stupid street racers down the street from me. I beat all of their burnouts by double:{
