3G owners with the NV5600... how many miles are you getting on your stock clutch before you notice the pedal 'aint what it should be ...

For those of you who have replace the clutch... at what milage did it happen?

I have 32K on mine and am noticing it having to return to position about 75% travel before engaging. My '01 (NV4500) had 75K+ and still very little noticable wear!!!

Thanks,

-frank.

Sounds more like a hydraulic problem then the clutch itself, IMO! :confused:Going through a bunch of trans/ clutch issues myself now, replaced my original with a SBC con fe @129k miles, still looked usable, blew up the 5600 and figured it was as good a time as any to install it!

I am at 60K right now. I plan on upgrading so that I can turn my Smarty up. To this point though the only slipping has been from trying to finish off a pair of tires.

I do know a guy that has 226K on his stocker and almost all of it is towing.

75K miles on the original clutch, but I'm on the 4th slave cylinder. The good ol' plastic slave cylinder just isn't holding up. The clutch pedal feels like the clutch is full of small rocks and sticks, and is hard to push down.

Your clutch might be just fine, take a look at the hydrolic end of this problem.

Good luck finding the problem. Hopefully it isn't your clutch, that's quite a bit more money than the slave cylinder. .

04 pulling 22K lb trailer 98% of the time... . 110K miles on the first one... .
Still running the second one we installed at 110 now at 240K..... and now its a flat bed not pulling.....

04. 5 pulling 12K lb trailer now at 75K miles... .

05 pulling 10K lb travel trailer now at 65K miles... .

164K original. Juice'd at 45K. Half of those miles are absurdly overloaded, the other half with 7K trailer. It's not perfect anymore, but it's still hangin' on.

Thanks to one and all for the replies!

The truck is going to the dealer next friday for some other items and I will ask them about this too. Will report back with any results.
