How many miles out of your stock tires?

For those of you that ran your first set of tires into the ground, how many miles did you get out of them?

I got 50,000 miles out of Goodyear GSA's. They were more a highway tire and not as aggressive as the other ones. would have gotten another 5000 probably but had to make a trip to Wyoming and in some deep snow so didn't want to risk it. I rotated them every 10,000 miles and they wore evenly. Got General Ameritrac on right now with about 10,000 on them and looks like they will make it probably 50,000 too.

54k so far, and lot's of tread left. I cut up the sidewalls a bit when off roading, and was expecting them to depart this world soon. But I'll keep going until they're at the legal limit before replacing them. Luckily I've already got a set of Toyo's mounted and can wait for a good sale price.

Usually get 70-75000 on a set. I'm on my third set, always have used Goodyears, they were the only ones with the correct size until just recently.

General Ameritrac's... 35k on the rears and they're gone. Fronts still had 2/3 tread left but I went to Rickson's so now they're all sitting in the shed, where they belong.



On my '01 I would get about 50k. Those were either Goodyear Wrangler AP or Mastercraft Courser AT.



My best guess so far (7k) is that the 19. 5 Mich XDE-MS will go somewheres in the neighborhood of 80K rears, who knows how far on the front.



All these miles are towing.

My neignbor with a 03 4x4 6 speed srw towing a 3 horse trailer about 90% of the time ran his original Michelins whatevers that came on the truck 90k (rotated every 7500)and they had just touched the wear bars. He bought three new and used the spare. Has 145k on truck now. My other friend has a 03 SRW auto 2500 tows a 2 horse bumber pull trailer and a cargo trailer. He's going to get around 90k out of his also. He's only rotated ONCE! He said he just ordered the same Michelins again.

43000 on original Michelins and about 50% tread left. Tow a 12000 lb 5er... ... JIM

On my 04, I got 13k before the outside tread was BALD! Mainly it was because the lousy ball joints and the ability that the dealer didnt have to keep the truck in allignment. Thus, I got them to deal on a replacement truck.

I now have Michlens and Im very happy with them. 6k and they still look like new. Rotated them at 5k.

Ive got about 12,200 miles on my stock michelins, and they still look close to new. Kinda bummed cuz Im not getting 315's till I wear out the stockers

Had to replace my GY GSA's at 42k because the fronts were getting tears/ rips in them !! Still had 55-60% tread left but the rips scared me a bit as I tow heavy at legal limits ( and then some ) . Back tires were down to 45% for some reason, and being the great folks that GY are, it only cost me $950 or so to warranty them out, how nice of them , huh? Have 21k on the new ones since September and look better then the originals did at this mileage, just had them rotated and balanced this past week, have a cross country trip coming up real soon !! LOL@daytripper. I got 42k so far, on the stock michelins, and still have good tread left. In spite of the TST box. I won't lie, it's been tough. I let it rip after its rolling good.

stock michelins hit the wear bar @ 30,000. been easy to wear them.

My stock Michelin LTX A/S tires will likely go >100K based upon wear so far, however they are by far the absolutely worst tire I have ever seen in slick conditions (ice/snow). Michelin sholuld call 'em S/S (summer season).

Took the Michelins off yesterday with 47k miles on them. They still have about 40% left but I was tired of skating around when it rains. Seems like the rubber compound is too hard because they would slide with very little provocation. I went with Bridgestone Revo's. First impressions are good, smooth ride, much more compliant than the Michelins. I know they are not "E" load range, but I don't tow heavy (8000lb max) and I'm happy with my decision.

Have to admit my Michelins were doing good too until the TST. Just hit 40000 and am due for a new set soon. I hope Toyo speeds up production on there M/T in the 17x12. 5x33.

DP, real hard on these trying to wear them out. as stated they are not good in snow,IMO. the coopers should be here tommorow. went with the oe size e range. all my past trucks I had the ltx/at and loved them 60,000 miles ,running like me , and great in snow. love towing to snowmobile Oo. .

I have to agree with the michelins being sucky in the rain. I tend to break the rear end loose an awful lot, in the rain. I don't even try anymore, and it happens. I love the power of this truck
