I put a Glacier 2mic secondary filter on my '07, 5. 9 about 2 years ago. I have a fuel pressure guage and I am still running 8-9 psi at light throttle cruise. I now have about 25,000mi on the element with a few changes on the 7mic stock PRIMARY filter. How long are the secondary filter elements good for? It is the big Fleetguard spin-on.

We have a 10 micron primary and a 2 micron secondary filter on all our trucks... we see a year of hard driving... . usually 50-60K miles between changes... we do it in the fall when its time to test the anti-freeze and look at the water level of the batteries for winter...

Thanks guys... . Jelag, your trucks in the hard work arena is a great help to us that only use ours for medium duty. THANKS!
When I worked at UPS, it was a good "Torture Test" bed for the various equipment. I learned to admire the old FORD 300ci 6cyls and the GMC 292 6's. When they went DIESEL, I didn't think that the old N/A 7. 3 and turbo 7. 3 Intls were going to be up to the test... . I WAS WRONG! When I left after 30 years, we had two Intl turbo 7. 3's in 28 ft box trucks that had 550K on them..... UN-TOUCHED. We ran plenty of 12 and 24v Cummins also. They also did well..... when the fuelers at night did their job and checked the oil and coolant... which was RARE.

I just installed my 2 micron filter and i was curious if any of you saw a pressure drop after the install. I was expecting to see a measurable drop of about 1-2 psi but it's the same pressure as before and I was curious what others noticed after the install.

I did the 2 micron filter and didn't see a change in pressure either..... maybe a half pound at the most? I sleep much better knowing that filter is on there protecting those injector tips.

I didn't have a psi gauge prior to the filters, but my pressures are similar to what they are for guys without extra filters.
