how many miles to work?

50 miles round trip a day. (Island is only something like 42 miles end to end, go figure?, I guess I could call it half an island drive per way???)

I guess it's only about 100 feet to work for me. That's about how far it is from the front door to where the big truck's parked, then it's usually somewhere between 5 and 15 thousand miles till I get home again.

95 miles round trip, if I am just going to the office. If I am working in the field or meeting with customers, it can be considerably higher. The other day it ended up being 185 miles of driving by the time I went to work and ran a couple estimates.

93 miles round trip

to the office. When I go to the field, like out in Ft. Stockton; 500 miles one way, and four to six hours of work to do before I get to the hotel.

Just over 21 miles each way, in town, stoplight-to-stoplight, construction-choked, snowbird- and idiot- congested roads. Going to work (3:00 p. m. ) it takes any where from 50-70 minutes. Coming home (11:00 p. m. to midnight), maybe 35-45. I still get 17-18 MPG in the truck (better than I do in the Jeep).



Then, once I get to work I drive up to 140 miles a night, 95% in-town. Glad I'm not putting the miles on my vehicles or paying for the gas.

Miles driven: 90 per day - round trip - in my '98 VW New Beetle TDI.



Fuel mileage: 43mpg - romping the crap out of it with FAT injectors. 52mpg taking it easy, cruising at 70-75mph on the highway.



Fuel cost: I spend about $20/week on fuel... not including driving around in the Dodge every now and then.

Trust me... . the injectors on the VW are FAT!



I have been just fine... . working like a madman... . and TIG welding for fun when I'm not working.
