Well guys, I have a 92 with 173,000 miles. I was reading in a magazine once where they should run to 300,000 miles. People say they will run a lot longer than that. How many miles are on your trucks? I'm just curious. Please let me know. Are there any out there with 400,000-500,000 miles? These engines last forever!

The motor in my truck wore out the 1st truck it was in. It had 700K+(speedo broke a 520K and was driven another year and half) hard miles on it and still wasn't too bad of shape and still made power. worst cyc. wear was . 28, but valve train was done.

The '89 has been a good friend for 380,000 Km and still is running strong. Good power, uses less than a litre(quart) of oil between changes and starts like a dream. I will miss the Lil' Mack.....

The former "Old School" Ride ("Big Medicine") just rolled 180,000 (on 36" tires - no speedo cal. )last weekend while in NC.

Keeno's ride is catching up w/ 178,000 miles rolling on oversized tires for 1/2 it's life.

Both still on the original Getrag's...

My truck has 244000 miles on it. The injection pump has the same amout of miles on it too. Runs like new,but has front engine seal that leaks.

I currently have 141,000 on my truck. Still the stock fuel pump and automatic though I do have a new DTT special sitting on the garage floor waiting to be installed. Just need to find the $$ to have it installed. Still running like a champ and do not lose any oil between oil changes at every 3500 - 4500 miles.

221,000 plus miles. Uses no oil between changes, starts and runs great. Right now it appears to be in great shape. Adjusted valves at 25,000, 75,000 and checked three times since. No adjustments needed. All within a couple of tenths of perfect. Shell Rotella T 15W40 all its' life. It should last at least another 220,000 if the body stays together. It did live in the Chicago area for the first 11 years of its life.

Almost forgot to mention the suspension is all still original except for adding 1 leaf to the left rear spring after putting in both front springs I didn't need to cure the sagging left front. Ball joints and tie rod ends still in excellent shape! Lubed at every oil change.

About 305,000 hard miles. Used to pull a 43 foot gooseneck car hauler for its entire life. Had two Getrags (the first replacement was filled with 90wt by an incompetent shop and failed within 10K miles) about 50K ago, replaced the inj pump about 4000 ago, lost it yesterday and there is an oil leak from the front of the engine, probably the front seal. I'll get some wear specs when I finally complete my move to Charleston and get started on transplanting the Cummins into my 78 F-250 supercab 4x4 since it's going to get a rebuild while it's out.

Overall it still pulls that 43 footer like nobodys business. Was taking hills at 65 in fifth and about 1150 on the pyro.

Joe

'Ol Blue is back on the road with a new set of rotors and brakes/calipers etc. at 170,000 miles and she still dirves as good as the day dad brought her home. Heck I can still remeber the first day I got to drive her..... I was about 13 yrs. old and was in the 8th grade... ..... I guess it scarred me for life cause IU've never been the same since. I can't imagine driving anything but a Dodge with a Cummins. Now i drive my 4 door some with the 360, but soon (not soon enough) it will get a Cummins.

later
