Any Ponsness/Warren shotgun reloaders out there? I reload 12 and 20 gauge for skeet shooting.
BTW, I live about 400 feet from the Ponsness/Warren shop.

Yogibear - had a rough day today and am recovering from dealing with an inordinate number of idiots. But... ... ... . you're post excites me 'cause no one knows where Rathdrum is (I don't care if they do), but... no one knows what Ponsness/Warren reloaders are!! (and they should know that, for sure!!)

No (guys), I have no interest in the company, but they ARE to reloading shot shells what Cummins is to light pick ups. Guys, don't flinch, but it's the truth. (check it out on the web) #ad
Joe

Yogi - email if you want - I don't want to tie up the thread unless the rest of the boys are interested. BTW, the hydraulic systems are as impressive as the other equipment. Cheers.

I'd bet I'm the only one in this group using 12 gauge shells completely full of powder!!

I've got a Field Marshall diesel tractor that was made in England. It's a 1 cylinder 2 cycle diesel and uses 12 guage starting shells to crank the engine over.

We put 28 gr of FF blackpowder in first, topped off with 4831 Hogdon rifle powder. Depending on whether a high base or low base shell is used the amount of 4831 powder varies. In either case the shell is completely filled with powder and is then just crimped.

We only use used shell casings since once they've been fired with this load the casing is no longer usable.

Works great for starting my diesel tractor!

I don't know Irontrader, I almost always shoot (practice/training) Remington 3" Magnum slugs in my Benelli (censored). I've tried them all and they are the hottest on the market. After a day of practice/training my right shoulder is toast (i. e. , black/blue/purple/yellow and hurting). Hey, no guts, no glory!

Massad Ayoob just says I have too much testosterone. LOL

Have reloaded for about 30 yrs. Still have all my original equipment a Lyman 12 ga. loader and RCBS Rockchucker. Load 38, 358, 9mm, 22-250 and 300 Win Mag. Weighing each charge and bullet.

I've been reloading for about 9 years now. I have a LEE Turret press, which is sort of halfway between a single stage and a progressive loader. I wish I had a Dillon press but just didn't have the money when for one when I got ito it! I shoot handguns exclusively and reload 9mm, 38 special, 357 mag, 44 mag. Last but certainly not least - . 338 JDJ - it's a wildcat, a . 444 marlin case necked down to . 338! My favorite load for that one is a 200 gr Nosler . 338 ballistic tip over 49 grains (53 is max) of IMR 4064 with Federal large rifle match primers - how's that for a HANDGUN load? I load those one round at a time, weigh the bullets and cases and match them up, and use a neck only resizing die. I shoot that out of a 14" Thompson contender (plus a 1. 9" muzzle brake on top of that - 15. 9 inches total) and it shoots those 200 gr Nosler's at 2400 fps! I can shoot 1" groups at 200 yards with it and have taken chucks out to 450 - not much left!

I reload thousands of rounds of . 223 Rem for use in service rifle matches. Also load for the following: . 22-250, . 220 Swift, . 22/6mm Rem. ,. 22-250 Ackley Imp. , . 22-284, . 243, 6mm Rem, . 243 Super Rockchucker, . 25/06, . 260 Rem, 6. 5x55, 6. 5mm-284, 6. 5mm/06, . 264 Win Mag, . 270 Win. , . 280 Rem. , . 280 Ackley Imp. , 7mm Rem. Mag. , . 30/30 Win. , . 308 Win. , . 30/06. , . 300 Win. Mag, 7. 62x39mm, 8x57mm Mauser, . 338 Win. Mag, . 380 Auto, 9mm Luger, . 45 ACP.

Shotshells by the truckload. Skeet and sporting clays. If you haven't gone crow hunting with an electric caller you need to go soon. It is a riot, especially with nothing else to do this time of year. 1 1/4 oz of fives at 1400 through a turkey choke is good for about 65 yards!! I shot competitive rifle and pistol in the service, but then I moved to the communist midwest. Hard to do here. NO public land around here. Most clubs have very strictly regulated ranges (1 shell in the gun at a time, etc). Not worth the hassle right now.

Like DieselNerd, I use a single stage press - RCBS Rock Chucker, and weigh every charge. I only have a couple . 30-06's (Ruger M77 and M1 Garand), and a Ruger Super Blackhawk . 44 Mag so far... . and I don't shoot nearly as often as I'd like. But I really enjoy hand loading, and hunting, target shooting, etc. .

Steve St. Laurent -

Every time I read one of your posts, I have to check and see if my signature is on it. We're far too similar. Maybe we were twins separated at birth.

I also "have a LEE Turret press and wished I had a Dillon press but just didn't have the money when for one when I got into it". Been pretty happy with the Lee though.

I also "shoot handguns exclusively" and reload 9mm, 357 max, 44 mag, 22 Hornet, 30-30, . 223, 7mmTCU, and last but not least 45-70(any wonder why I don't hear any engine noise). I never got around to wildcats like the JDJ. (Sometimes load 30-06 and 30 carbine for my dad too, but he says I make'm too hot. )

I also "load one round at a time, weigh the bullets and cases and match them up, and use a neck sizing die" on the bottleneck cartridges.

I usually "shoot a 14" Thompson Contender". I won't comment on the size of my groups, but they're pretty small. (Besides, it ain't the size, it's what you do with it). I like shooting bowling pins at 200 yards. You can make'em dance.

Oops, too late. What silencer ring? (More fun than my 98 SST)

Got to reload, 12 Ga, 223, 243, 30 06, 221 Fireball in a T. C. , 357, 44 Mag, 45/70 (Black Powder & smokeless) some wildcats too 357 MAXIMUM,... . who's into MUZZLELOADING?? #ad

.

Yes bowling pins are SUPER. Or "golfing". (just keep nailing the underside of it).

Black powder cannons... ... A REAL BLAST!! #ad
