I have not found anything in owners manual in respect to oil capacities of the transfer case, 4500 transmission, front dif, or rear dif. I want to change them and need to know how many quarts to buy. Am I missing it somewhere? Thanks

I don't have a service manual yet so I went out to the truck and just glanced thru mine and I did not see anything either but I could of missed it cause I was in a hurry suppose to working. I had them change the oil in the transmission when they replaced my clutch disk and they had 5 qts. on the work order. Don't know if it holds quite that much. On the 94+ the front diff holds 7. 8 pts, rear diff 10. 1 and transfer case depending on which one you have 4-6. 5 pts. I sure somebody will come on here and give you the correct amounts but this is something to go by.

jwirtz,

My 3500 drw with AA-11. 5" rear axle takes about 4 qts and the AA-9. 25" front takes 2 1/3 qts. I haven't changed the transfer case, so I don't know exactly, my guess would be a couple of qts. The NV 5600 trans takes about 4 1/2 qts, so I would suspect that the 4500 wouldn't require any more.

I can't lay my hands on the manual right now so that is all I can tell you. You should also fill out your signature and attach it to your posts so we know whhat truck you have and how it is equiped and would be able to answer your post more precisley.
