How many shots(rounds) do you fire monthly.

I shoot IPSC and in the summer monthes I shoot right at 2400 rounds a month.

I currently have an Open and Limited guns. The open is a STI 38 Super Comped and has a OK reflex dot (heads up display) sight. The limited gun is also a STI 40 S&W.

I have been averaging about 1200/mo with guns, and about 2000 with my bow. Great thing about the bow is I dont have to reload the ammo. :D :D

I shot competitive trap for severeal years. When I was at my best, I was shooting 3 or 4 shoots a month. At each shoot shots for score where 600 if you add a couple of practice rounds for each of the three events (singles. handicap and doubles) that's at least another couple of hundred. That makes for 800 shots on a weekend times four, thats 3200 shots a month, just for competition. I found that if I wanted to really be competitive I had to practice at least 3 times a week. Each practice would burn up 250 or 300 shell's. Thats gets you up to 6000 or maybe 6500 shotgun shell's a month. And partners thats a hell of a lot of shooting. If I did'nt reload and have a shell contract with Remington I would'nt have been able to do it.

I now shoot Black Powder Cartridge Silhouette, I really need to shoot more than I do at this to become competitive, just can not find the time. Maybe next year. Gunny

On an average month, i am shooting about 2-4,000 ronds of . 45 and a few hundred assorted other handgun calibers. I work at a gun range now, so that number should climb. In the month of May when we had a shoot with the Navy i shot about 3,000 rounds in an afternoon of 7. 62 with the M240G.

Right now, maybe 200 per month max, I really wish it was much more. Once my youngest daughter gets into 1st grade, that number should rise to around 1000 per month, maybe more.

Don't under estimate the value of dry fire. My shooting improved by leaps and bounds when I became religious about dry firing. The down side is that it is not as much fun and there is no noise involved. :p

Yes, once youre profifient, dry fire will keep you there if you cant get to a range.

I shoot about 100 rds rifle, usually 223-308, and around 100-200 pistol. This would be 38-357, 9mm, or 45. If I bring the Ruger 22, this will double the amount.

I wish I had more free time to shoot. I have an excellent range about 10 miles from me.

Someday I'd like to have enough land in a rural area so I can shoot in my back yard. :D

Adam, It really is not so bad after a while. The target loads are not like shooting those 3 1/2 inch Magunums. And after awhile it becomes a daily thing, have the morning coffee, get in the truck, shoot. Damn! I should have gotten a life sooner. I actually would still be doing it but I lost my practice place. And for me I really needed that practice every other day or so. Gunny

Not near as much as I'd like!!

I shoot the cowboy action events locally. That gets me out at maybe a couple hundred rounds through my . 44 wheelguns and just shy of that through the lever. Add in some . 45-70 long range and a bit of shotgun just to round it all out. If I get out other than a match, it's usually to play with my . 22 single-six or the . 45acp 1911.
