How many times a day do you open your hood?

I think I'm gonna wear my hinges out. I open mine about 3 times a day it seems like to look at something or check something. Sometimes more. Just wondering cause I think I must have a problem. Of course since it is the best thing about the truck... I'm always wanting to look at the Cummins.

I raise the bonnet ever oil change. Doesn't need any more than that.

Today about five times but I guess usually I'm with Klenger. Check the oil at fill-ups, and oil changes other than that not everyday by any means.



Today I bent up some stainless steel 1/4 inch tubing and re-did the lines for my fuel pressure and boost gauges, used swagelock fittings to hook things together. It turned out really nice. Got rid of the plastic tubing ferrule fitting stuff under the hood.

I bought the Cummins so I wouldn't have to open the hood.



Once I figured out it burns next to no oil - I probably lift the hood every other month or so, if only to top off the windshield cleaner and give everything else a quick glance.

About twice a day becasue I love the sound of the engine and since it gets louder when you open the hood got just stand there and check things out.



Plus I love the fact that when you drive up behind people that are walking in front of you they wip there heads around wondering what's making all that noise...

On the '94 - back when I was running around with no shutdown solenoid (and no manual cable... ), I had to pop the hood everytime I wanted to shut the beast down. :-laf



The '98 hasn't had the hood open all that much... but I open it every chance I get...

I'm not sure how many times a day my hood gets openned, but my wife keeps asking..... "What the hell do you keep looking at under there?"

Yep, gotta open the hood a couple times a day... . with it running & shut down. Always find a "reason". I also have to "sniff" the exhaust first thing in the morning... kinda goes along with my mug of coffee before heading off to work

Once a week ... after hand washing, I open the hood to dry the underside of the grille & bottom edges of the hood & top of the fender/hood areas.



While there, admiring is a wonderful thing. Oo.

I agree with Forrest about once a week after I wash it, more often if I am adding a new up grade. GOT TO LOVE THESE TRUCKS WILDMAN

I thought they did away with the under hood light in 03 so I wouldn't drain the batterys with all the time the hood spends open.
