Turbo Re-Source report

Personally when you travel oversears... . you don't see many performance automotive shops like here,,,they are for the ultra rich - which is where we are now headed I think... . I for one have no desire to make my truck use any more FREAKING $5. 00 diesel than I need to... ... ... ... and I have mine so she runs as good as she can - but the day when Joe Sixpack had some fun with a camper/trailer/boat and or after market performance products has seen it's hay day!:confused: That will not be a growth industry and I think in a few years the number of advertisers you see in the TDR touting these things will greatly diminish... . :{ Folks just don't have the $$$$ nor are the willing - for the most part - to waste $$$ this way when we need it for non-discretionary items... ...

WELL, one advantage of our Cummins diesels, is that upping power considerably doesn't always automatically reduce MPG, UNTIL you start really USING that HP.

I've upped the power in my '02, as displayed in my sig - and still get better than 22 MPG empty, on the freeway - and over 17 MPG towing our 24 ft. 5er in mixed mountain/flatland driving.

The power is there when I *need* it, but not a drain until that time and use occurs...

Regardless of cost of fuel, more HP & TQ Oo. , a fine cigar:-laf, Guinness Extra Stout (or 2, 3) :-laf are my only vices.

The cost of fuel is definitely putting a hampering on my choice and quantity of the fine cigars though:{.

At least I have my priorities in line :rolleyes: as far as I'm concerned.

Just don't ask my wife about my priorities she always asks me, "what the hell do you need all that power for?" "So you can go to the WaWa for coffee faster?" :-{}

I say "Yep" and "so I can beat the local coppers to the doughnut shop when the 'fresh doughnut alert' gets sounded":-laf

I see two choices.

1. Cry about it and do nothing.

2. Vote all the twinkies out that won't vote to drill, drill, drill and refine, refine, refine.

We don't live overseas, we live here with vast distances to cover. Also, we are the ONLY world power... act like it.

I went out today an about a 08 honda accord so i can fill up under 50 bucks an go over 400 miles..... Now i dont have to drive my truck everywhere an spend 150 bucks a week in diesel!!! I spent the money i was gonna use to power up my truck on a car!!! Now my truck is gonna be my project instead of a daily driver!!! Just think of all the mods i could of done for 25K!!!!!

the cost of broken parts is what did it to me. i can afford a couple mpgs once in a while but a broken truck usually isnt cheap. :-laf

We will always find a way, been through this before. I love the power and really has not affected the mileage. May reduce the number of long trips I take, but modding everything I own is in my blood.
