Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) how much auto. fluid

Don't have my truck manual with me... ... buying Royal Purple Max ATF. How Much ATF do i need,,,,,How much fluid does the transmission hold if it was dry including the converter????

If it was dry it will take 17 quarts or so... ... .

Mine took right at 4 gals.

Mine took 17 quarts, bought 5 gallons so be safe. 12000 miles later you can use the remainder when you do it all over again.
