what will a stock head hold for boost before you need to O-ring and stud it ?

Iam running a HY35, comp on 5x5 with the waste gate shut and i am getting 40lb@WOT

The ultimate answer is to stop just before the boost level causes a failure.

Some engines hold better than others!

I think "Popeye" (cartoon sailor for you youngsters) said "I make my choices and I take my chances!"

Im running about 48 psi and no problems yet... Just make sure your engine is nice and warm before you go stompin on the throttle. .

You might be better off EGT wise to put a spring on the waste gate or otherwise mod it so that it opens about about 30 psi. Once the baby HY goes past 30 all its doing is making the air hotter and that is not so good. With that said I ran my HY to 45 psi a number of times with my comp and 275's. EGT's where into the 1400's, once I set it to open at 30 my EGT's droped and the SOP power when up.

Good luck

To much is when it go's and sprays everything with oil and water. I ran my little 35/nw16 past 50 all the time. The head gasket stayed but the turbo started to go.

I recomend running a spring and seting it at 35psi its all the little thing can do hp wise.

If you need more get a bigger turbo or risk blowing the one you have up.

i know mine is a 12v but i lost my stock HG at 40lbs, with stock turbo. better to upgrade before you have a problem rather than after, that way you can do it at your convience not when you have to in order to have the truck.
