Anyone have engine pic's of a cummins in a newer powerstroke?

GM adapter parts for b series engines on ebay right now

B3.9 in Suzuki Samurai?

I was wondering what the going rate is for a new and or used Cummins B3. 9 4-Cyl. Also what is the most common manual transmission mated to it. Is an NV4500 possible? My reason for asking this is because i have a buddy that has a Suzuki Samurai, it has the origional engine and trans (it dosent run all that well), but he said i could have it aslong as i was willing to do a engine swap to make it reliable. Would this match be possible? If so how much fabricating would it take? I need a vehicle that will get decent milage and of course i wouldnt mind the extra power the CTD would add to my commute. :p

Id really appreciate any advise or suggestions.

Thanks

You don't need a 4bt in a Samurai, it is a waste of a engine. A VW motor such as a 1. 9 litre engine with a manual injection pump will put you in the same economics of the liberty CDI's, or better. The kits Jeff has will let you bolt one right into the ZUK bodies.

A CJ 5 is barely long enough to get a 4bt/nv-4500 combo into due to driveline lengths, a Samurai is going to be just rediculously complicated. You'd be far further ahead to go the VW diesel route. There is a huge following of VW converters on the net who have used the ZUK's.

I've bought entire bread vans with 4bt's in them for $1500 or less, good condition engines, just long in the tooth usually. New engines with all accessories are around the same as a 6 bt, less maybe $1000. 00 hard to find lately, especially with automotive rated pumps and accessories. Most Recon's I've located with full accessories were set up for GenSet useage. Figure a minimum of $5,000. 00 new with everything to start up and run minus radiator, exhaust, Motor mounts.

I have a complete turn key 4bt I am considering selling right now. It was rebuilt just prior to me moving to the Southeast. The engine is a true turn key engine, on a transportable stand. I'll take $4700 for it with no core charge. This is not a pull out, it is a full on rebuild with original spec crank, rings etc. No boring or damage. Turbo is used and pump is used.

DARN IT! I really want one of those for my Scout project. I wonder if my Fiance would mind putting our wedding off another few months(years) so I couls take you up on your offer? Probably not, but I can dream...
