Bio Diesel in NJ

Who sell's Bio Kits / Systems

... per gallon. Not soy-diesel, but the raw oil. I noticed it on the board the other day for $248/ton which if you use 8. 3lb/gal works out to around $1. 10/gal. Add in $0. 60/gal to process it and it's significantly cheaper than #2.

I'm just wondering how far off my numbers are. I'd love to bring in about 2500gal of the stuff and start cookin' my own. Probably never happen, but a guy can dream right?

I just talked to a friend that has a restrant , and asked what the cheapest oil he knew of and he said it was $11 for a 35 lb jug and that was 5 gals it seems , its bad when I can not remember details from an hour ago .

Oil

Hello

Soy per gallon is 7. 61 pounds per gallon 35 pounds is 4. 60 gallons

2000 # = 262. 81 gallons

I think thats about . 951 per gallon

I would bet you will have to buy a rail car of it for that price. heck thats only 28,500 gallons only will cost 27,103. 50 + shipping

Last year I could buy canola for . 35 per pound or 2. 63 per gallon will be pricing it later this fall

Is there any difference in the amount of BTU's you can get per gallon between soy, canola, and other oils? If so, which has the most?

I'll probably never do it, I'm just wondering. I have (2) 3000 gal storage tanks that dad used for fertilizer just sitting here doing nothing. One can be easily cleaned out, the other I'm not so sure about. I'd love to bring in 3000gal of soybean oil and give it a whirl, but that's an awful lot of outlay.

We sell our soybeans to an "oilseed processing facility". I would think we could also purchase some of the oil there, but I've never looked into it.

I meet someone that had a bulk tank [ 500 gal ] and had a trucker neighbor that was shipping for a refinry , and last spring he was paying $ 1. 89 gal .
So it would seem that you should be able to do the same , but you'ed be ahead of the game becouse this was already refined into bio diesel , I think that included the $1. 00 discount for blenders .
So depending on how much you value your time [ picking up a base to make it from { fresh or waste } and then prossess it ] you could be either about even to ahead .

time - ???
base - free to $ 2. 00 gal
making - around $ . 80 gal [ electricty , methonal , lie ]
