ted kidd, you're worrying me about your weight. The Bigfoot 3000 that I am looking at weighs considerably more than the 1500. What do you mean by "loaded. " Tell me that this is 1000-lbs. of fishing gear? How much does the dog weigh?

I've been following this post and today I ran my truck over to the scales with my 9'4" Lance Camper on board. What a surprise! Only had a few gallons of water, full tank of fuel and propane otherwise empty except for me. My guess was about 9000#. Actual weights were: Front axle 4300#, rear 5300# total weight 9600#. GVW of truck 8800# so I am over the truck limit but not the axle or tire limit which is 4850# front and 6084# rear. #ad

Currently my truck Y2K 3500 DRW 4X4 weighs 0,(I got tired of it breaking down gave it back)
Acutal weight with dog only 75lbs, with me and dog barely on lap hanging over front and back 285lbs we are sitting on the paid reciept for the truck DC is replacing. HEHE

Just learned something new. The truck's laden weight is printed on the registration slip. Obviously, it does not include added accessories, but does anyone know where this number comes from?

Weighed today==7520 lbs. 1/4 tank of fuel, 5th whl hitch in bed, no one on board. Truck is set up for 5th whl, tow box + full of stuff.

With my Elkhorn slidein and supplies for a month on the road it's at 10,750 pounds. I had problems with the rear tires coming apart at half of their life until I bought the Ricka dual wheel adapters.

Unloaded, but full of fuel and a few tools I'm right at 6800#.

The following weights are truck only (no occupants). Full tank of fuel. 100% stock.

Front axle: 4,020 lbs.
Rear axle: 2,560 lbs.
Gross Weight: 6,580 lbs.

From the door sticker-

GAWR Front: 4,850 lbs.
GAWR Rear: 6,084 lbs.
GVWR: 8,800 lbs.

My question is, if the axles are rated for a total weight of 10,934 lbs what is the limiting factor in the GVWR? Brakes? Springs? Or some "magic" number having to do with taxes/emmissions?
