There it may depend on what lube you use. I use the Amsoil 75W-90 and change once a year. It always takes 1 bottle. I used 140 once and it still took 1 bottle.

NONE !

Hi Clayton, I wouldn't add any. Just drive it. If you get a little 'growl' when turning sharp corners in a a parking lot, and you find this annoying, then add a a little of the LSD juice.

The problem is is that the LSD is a stack of spring loaded clutches, if you want them to grab and hold [limit the slip] then you don't want them to have the slipery additive in the lube. If you can't stand the noise from them grabbing and releasing when they have to release around tight corners then give the lube a little additive till the growl just goes away.

Otherwise you might as well have an open differential if you add too much additive.

Hope this helps. Greg L

Ps did you get the 40 installed yet??

I changed mine last year and put the Amsoil 75W-90 in it. I took it to a parking lot and drove some tight figure eights and didn't hear any chatter so I didn't add any friction modifier. It's been fine ever since then.

I know that the limited slip is still working too because I recently cut down a tree and had a cable attached from the hitch to the tree and while trying to pull the tree over both rear wheels were spinning.

At least on and probably two....

My 96 LSD 80 always took 1. 5 to 2 full bottles. I have always ran Amsoil 75W90. I think the 1997 and older Dana 80s had much tighter LSD... take more LSD additve.

I would start with . 5 and work up from there. Even with two full bottles I have never been able to detect any wheel slippage between the rears (leaves marks like it is locked at all times).

I had a 2001 work truck that One bottle was two much.

I use Amsoil and then do the tight figure 8,s and if it complains too much I put in 1 4oz bottle of mopar friction modifier. never had to add more than 1 bottle . works for me
