I have been using 2 cycle oil as a fuel 'lube' additive...

Anyone else? How Much per gallon of diesel. .

Also, Would adding Cetane boost along with 2 cycle hurt anything...

AND, Last Month in TN, I got some 45 Cetane Old Diesel. .

WOW, Great MPG,

The 40 cetane Green in Florida "Terrible".....

I think you will find everyone has different flavors on this. I use 16oz of 2 cycle and either cetane power service 8-16oz or use lucas upper cyl lub with the cetane power service. this last summer I was able to get bio diesel cheap I just ran power service when I used bio. you can probley pull your hair out searching all the threads on additives here.

I don't use any additives on a regular basis. Just a biocide a couple times a year. almost 135,000 miles on original pump.

I run Diesel Treat 2000 by Schaeffer. There was an elaborate test posted some where that rated the lubricity of a bunch of the diesel additives available. Schaeffer came out very high on the list. The test also rated how much the additive boosted the Cetane rating. Some of the additives actually reduced the cetane rating.

With a $10,000 engine and $14,000 in mods there's no way I'm going to experiment with my engine. I'll let other people find out which homemade concoctions don't work well. If you call 1-800-325-9962 you can find out who sell Schaeffer products in your area. I run their synthetic oil as well. My sales rep usually does my oil analysis for free.

Diesel Place

Here's a study of additives from Diesel Place (GM site). Its about lubricity for diesel itself and is applicable to everyone.

Of course... the study uses "dry" diesel with no additives added at the refinery for the various vendors. We can't buy this stuff. So if you add to fuel from your local fill-er-up... you'll already have some lubricant additive in there to make it "usable".

There seems to be alot of discussion there about the results, emulsification, demulsification, statistics and such... but I like the reading.

My Stanadyne Performance Formula was average at best. Bio added to the fuel was tops!!
