No bombing but a M80 would be nice.

yup thats about what happened to me. i had the smarty on sw9 for the first pull and did 602HP. then for the second and third pulls i added the pressure box in and the second pull was 604HP and the third was 606HP id say my pump didnt even have enough for the smarty alone.

Folks at TST say SW#5 is pushing it (90 HP) to the limit or over with the stock fuel system. Every mod is different, so what might be a problem at just 90 HP with, say, a Smarty, might not be a problem with another mod.

Note, today, I've got it set on SW#0, and YES it is an absolute DOG, but I'm doing a test. SW#3 is a pretty good setup for acceleration that won't tear up your powertrain.

BTW, you might try fiddling with the Smarty, and put it on 7 or even 5 with the pressure box. It sounds counterintuitive, but with the boost fooling the Smarty is doing on the higher numbers, it may be conflicting with what the pressure box is doing. IOW, it's not simple math (i. e. put all the boxes on the highest setting) as the synergies between systems don't always occur at the same relative place on the system curve.

So making these two modifications to the CP3 will make no difference at all? I didn't plan to do it now, but figured I'd keep the info for later on if I needed more fuel after future mods. Does the FCA directly control engine speed/output. It seems that opening up the base of the triangle in the FCA would make for a more touchy throttle. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was in the 600 range. stock cp3, FASS95, 90hp inj, capped rail, fat shaft 66, PPE downloader, Edge juice, Predator 2015

in my experience - 04. 5 trucks can make 600 on stock Cp3...

But 03-04 truck have a bit more trouble getting there without a CP3 mod... .

A couple things on this

I just am curious if anyone has verified this. Some posts saw no gain some say there is some advantage.

First,... I for one belive it. This by the way is at least a two year old issue or mod. And it was 86hp. It was a ton of labor however and most that ended up doing it took advantage of the fact the gears were off and you had gone that far and went ahead and put a cam in at the same time. All the labor I believe was the biggest downfall to getting that mod. About the time I called Chris at Relentless and had decided to go ahead with it then he told me to hold tight that he had something better in the works without all the labor inherent in that mod. I feel absolutely certain that the number that was quoted of increase,... was accurate. At the time it was the only explanation for the 100hp to 150hp increase that RC Cox had over most other similarly modded trucks. And most who have been around awhile realize that Chris' products and RC's truck has been at the forefront of modification and making power on a consistent basis.

As it turns out then the new mod that Chris spoke of and that he took his time refining to bring to the market was the dual cp3. As with everything Chris has developed I think his dual cp3 setup is well thought out. I especially like the way he has offered the product with different levels of product and pricing, so it was more accommodating to many users, i. e. with and without cp3s, for instance. As it turns out many of us had an extra cp3 or two or more we had purchased not knowing that some forward thinking developer would come up with a quality product where we could use our stash. Also another thing I like was the fact his dual cp3s use Dodge pumps. I'm certianly no one's expert on fuel hydraulics but it makes sense to me to use two like products when your trying to accomplish a dual or twin setup rather than say one modded pump with a Dodge oem level pump or a D-Max pump with a Dodge pump,... . I'm not saying these other systems don't work and may work just as well,... I really don't know, but I just feel it may work better since it is in sync to begin with,... with two like pumps. Just MY $. 02.

Oh,... also I ordered them,... . so I'm willing to put my $$$ on this system. :D

When it comes to modded Pumps and 3gen Fuel systems ,Electronics, Component's. . The combination are almost endless,Hp gains will differ form unit to unit... its just to difficult forecast what you can expect, and have same results. .

It doesn't seem all that labor intensive if both parts removed to be modified are on the back of the CP3. I have however not done this myself, just read about it and saw the pictures. If there is a gain to be made then I will do it when the time comes which wont be for awhile. I just like to read and learn and then when I'm ready to make another mod I can use the knowledge gained to make a few more tweeks at the same time. Thanks for the info.

No,... pulling the pump or pulling an FCA is a simple matter. Relentless' Hyperdrive pump mod was pulling the entire front off the engine and all the front gears and radiator, and coolers, at least loosening the bumper so you could get enough tilt etc etc etc. That was the 86hp increase. You all are getting things mixed up here. That FCA mod was a little side issue that I do not believe was part n' parcel to the original Hyperdrive or at least in the same time period. If it was,... Relentless didn't publish it at the same time. The Relentless FCA mod made it to our Forum maybe 6 weeks or 2 months ago.

i made 496 with 37 inch tires, the dyno was crap, wouldnt load enough to light the twins, just smoked a whole lot#@$%! also stock cp-3 then

Is it worth while $$$???

So then, is the FCA mod worth while or waste of time?

If your moderately modded and going to say around 600hp then the answer is yes. I finally upgraded mine with a Floor It FCA and it was machined like an injector tip (edm'd),..... just a beautiful job. I took it apart and looked and compared to the junk I had and there was NO comparison.
