HoleshotHolset I wish you did too cuz it looks like noone down here knows how or at least wants to. :{

I understand everyone want to be a Texan. :p

Hey Drice, go to Trans Texas Tire there in Stephenville, Ronnie Featherston will advance it for you I am sure, or you can take it to his house, I think he still does work on the side, he lives in Hico. His # is in the phone book. He ran the overhead on mine about a year ago, did a great job, and he is very reasonable. We could do it if we had the tools, but the shop at TSTC doesn't have the tools :mad: Cause my timing needs checked, and advanced bad, tried to bum them off the school, no such luck.

drice,

One more suggestion from the green horns here. Try a known good oil pressure gauge. You might just compare readings while idling to see if your factory gauge or sending unit is failing. Worth a try.

I'm starting to wonder if there is a seal on the handle end ofthe dip stick there is a peice of something missing maybe that is what is causing the oil leak. no matter what I'm going ot install the 191's 4000 GSK and get the timing advanced.

Way cheap compared to the East and West coast, we live in a house that would cost at least 4 times as much in SoCalif

Well, there's some good news! I'll keep it in mind when things get to be too much around here... . (I think that happened a long time ago... )

Here's what ~$160k will buy in my home town:

I posted that URL with the intention of showing people how much real estate goes for... I have no relations at all with any realtors or the people responsible for the listing.

I don't think there is any place cheaper to live than in central texas, I payed more for my lot here in UT than I did for my house in waco. As for this motor there have been people on this site who pulled the head on their motor and it still had the orginal cross hatching on the bores at well over 200k miles. Oil pressure sending units can also do wacky things i second putting a known working gauge on it

WOW, that much money here will buy a house on "Executive row", like 2800sqft 4-5 bedrooms, 6-8 years old brick home.

Matt is the rest of that house in the trees of what. 160000 will buy nice houses down here.

as far as the oil pump goes it was strange up until 6 months ago it never moved of of 40 then all of a sudden it started bouncign back and forth so 3-4 months ago I installed a new one now it goes from and 10-40 depending on if I'm at idel of actually moving. so I think I will get a good gauge and try that.

That particular street is a suburb of a thriving metropolis of about ~22k people... . so it's pretty densely wooded.

Real estate prices up here are insane... .
