Here is the deal, I am looking at ordering a transmission for my truck, haven't figured out what brand yet, but that doesn't really matter. I have a triple dog power pup, afe intake, guages, and exhaust already, and would like a transmission that could handle stacking another chip, and a turbo upgrade. Probably to an SP66.

How much transmission will I need? Billet everything? none? or just the flywheel and input shaft? The truck is used for daily driving mostly, and towing light loads, under 9,000 lbs. and of course the occasional truck pull and drag race.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Flexplate, Input, And Output Only If Your Going To Torque Lock It. If Not, The Intermediate And Output Should Be Fine. Spend The Money On A Deep Pan For When Your Towing Instead. Flexplate's Were More Prone To Break On 04. 5 And Newer Trucks, Although Have Seen 03's Break Them Too. Good Luck.

If I were you I would over build the trans, as you obviously have plans for more power, and it looks like the 3rd gens are going to continue to go up. If you haven't found a company to go with, I would talk with Tim Barber, in VA I believe his shop is TRE Diesel. He is very knowledgeable and has a 2001 dodge that is over 700hp himself, and also has a 06 Dodge. His # is 757-831-7451. Be warned though a ride in his truck could get expensive as once guys go for a ride they get hooked. :)

all those are good areas to be looked at, the best benefit in buying a transmission (besides performance) is customer service and price----make sure you do you home work. good luck :-laf
