Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) How much transmission fluid in pan?

I'm changing my transmission fluid and filter ( automatic trans. ). How much fluid does it take? I put 4 qts. in and it isn't registering on dipstick.

If you have a stock pan, I think you can figure on two more.

When I dropped my pan it took 7 1/2 quarts.

If you let it bleed down overnight with the filter off - you would be suprised what it takes to refill that half of the converter.

I dropped the pan on my 01 and it took 7 1/2 quarts of ATF+4.
