BD BOV on a 12v manual?

Larger alternator needed!

I know the MU 13-1. 25 con FE is rated for 550/1100 but has anyone done better then that with them holding up? Im talking rolling into it firmly, not dropping the hammer and dumping the clutch. I just wonder cause I see some guys with big #'s in there sig with that clutch listed. .

Thanks, Jim

I have yet to slip mine and I think im right around that HP mark, But I do abuse this clutch alot! The only thing I dont do are HARD 3rd gear lauches, some soft 15-1800 rpm ones, but a ton of redline dump the clutch or drag out 2nd gear 4X4 launches! Peter underrates his clutches IMO there are always reports of people running more HP than SBC clutches are rated for, Like Lloyd Mills who is well over 700 HP who uses an FE!

i know that lmills dynoed at 730 hp on a con fe. im sure that he has run more power than that through it though. im not saying that he has run that the whole time the clutch was in but im sure theres a good couple thousand like that.

HP isn't what kills that clutch, its the tq. If you have a box the hits real hard on the bottom (aka TST with tq setting turned up) then its will slip around the 1600-1800 mark. I never got mine to slip above 2000rpms, but when I was on it hard with the TST at about 15-1600 when it really pulled hard it would tear free. Just like anything else, its all in how you set the truck up and how you drive it.

I havent sliped mine with the TST/EZ/Smarty stack yet, tons of bottom end! But the 4. 10's and stock tires help a bit. Or should I say 2nd set of stock tires in 34K!! And the ones on now have seen their better days!

I was running a 10k lb lifted dually with a steel flat bed and 265 70R19. 5's (34. 5"). With 3. 73 gears. Might have something to do with it. :-laf
