How much work to put a 90 4x2 le 250 gas cab on a 93 250 CDT 4x4





I have stated ripping the 90 apart I got a good deal on it $400. 00. My cab was rusted out on bottom.

tahke your time and label where everything goes. more on the CTD, since i assume the rest of the gasser is junk. .

it is alot of work, but in the end you will have a nice rust-free truck, so well- worth it. be sure to have title updated, as the new cab will have teh wrong VIN.

I think the firewall holes and some mounting locations may be different between the two trucks, but the swap is fairly straight forward. As far as I know the cabs were the same, meaning there were not any upgrades for the Cummins verses a gasser, but I may be wrong.

Look at the center hump. I'm willing to bet the floor is much flatter in the 2wd then the 4X4 cab over the hump. At least when I was putting a 79 2wd cab on the same vintage 4X4 this was the case. I just used the 4X4 center hump cut it large, then cut the 2wd cab hump out smaller. Then the center hump is now bolted in, and easy to remove for transmssion work.

humps Are the same. It all looks the same to me just hope it all works. Truck is great but the rust suck bed is rusted too. So the next thing after I get the cab fixed is the bed then stacks and smoke.

They must have changed up the humps in later trucks. Don't get too many 2wd's round here to look at. Good luck with the project.
