Luke:

maybe so, but I had just lost a VP44 w/stock lift pump... FP never showed below 8 psi full throttle/idle was never less than 14. Dealer fixed it under warranty, but the next was gonna be my $3K (OK, $1,200 if I bought it did it myself).

Great to see there are cheap and reliable alternatives out there.

Any of us can buy a suitable 12V pump, Heater and filter for a lot less than the $700. 00 let alone $1,200. 00 is a total rip off.

Bruce,

The 12v pump will not work on a 24v motor unless you also change the cam..... The cam lobe for the pump is not on a 24v cam. Also the pressure from a 12v pump is not optimum for the VP44.

I use only one battery, but even with 2 batteries the system is only 12V total not 24V that is for heavy duty trucks and 18 wheelers. Thats is volts not valves.

Someone is confused, it may be me. Jet pilot is saying the 24valve engine cam is different than the 12valve cam. The 24valve cam lacks the lobe to run the 12 valve pump.

Unless you were talking volts, then I guess we misunderstood but jetpilot wasnt trying to say it was a 24 volt system.
