Okay guys... I can't find the parts I need... So I am looking at an entire truck for parts. It is an early '01 with a rebuilt auto that has shifting problems. I need the Dana 80 and wouldn't mind having the engine lying around. What is this thing worth? Thanks in advance.

Auto trucks come with the D70, unless someone replaced with an 80. As for what it's worth? Depends on a lot more info than you gave. If the trans isn't shifting then that's a deduction, etc. , etc.

Joe... You're right... Sorry about the lack of data. It is a 3500 and has 250k on it. Vacuum pump is leaking like crazy. The thing drives and the guy doesn't really want to see it parted out. But I have to do what I have to do.

mystery solved! :-laf Its worth as much as you are willing to pay, anything less is a bonus. ;)

Dcreed... . Are you Socrates reincarnated?

I would appreciate some numbers.

It is a 4x4 also.

C'mon guys... I know someone must have an idea.

I don't think he's being Socrates there. Putting a number to any vehicle (or item for that matter) isn't really an exact science. People will pay different ammounts for the same vehicle based on location and all sorts of other factors. If you want a starting point for your head go to New Cars, Used Cars, Blue Book Values & Car Prices - Kelley Blue Book put in the mileage and other info for that truck, call it rough condition due to the mechanical problems and that'll give you a fair ballpark to start in. Another approach you could take it add up what you'd like to pay for all the parts you need, offer the guy that number as a starting point.

yup. I got a local guy here who wants $9000. for a 99 parts truck, and another who wants $9000. for a nice 01 driver w/mods. I bought a wrecked dually for $2000. and spent $1000. to ship it here. I made money on the parts and gave a lot of the smaller bits away here. Spend some time on ebay and craigs and see what the parts are selling for (not the "asking" price) figure in what you want from it and make an offer if its worth your while.
