How much yould you pay for a 76' 440 Wedge motor with only 18,000 mi? The motor is quiet and sounds strong.

It would depend on of course of what it came out of,,76 motors were low compression and lacking on hp terribly due to all the smog equipment added to them,,A 18,000 piece out here in my area from a car would command anywhere from $450-$600 IF it was stored correctly and had no internal damages,,On the other hand now IF it was a 440 out of a truck and had the original exhaust mainifolds and all other pieces(carb,pulleys,etc) on it now your talking more money,,I sold a set of just the big block truck exhaust mainfolds at Chryslers at Carlisle for $1500,,The k frames from the big block trucks also command a very nice price also,,If you looking to buy this to modify it for a street piece and its complete from a car then I'd say its a good start,,If its a truck motor complete(carb to pan,all pulleys and manifolds) I'd say buy it and resell it,there are many out there looking for 70's big block truck stuff for restoration and its a market just beginning to get bigger,,Let me know how you make out.....
