Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) how often do turbos need overhauled?

so i pulled my cold pipe off tonight and found a bit of oil residue inside it. there was no shaft play back and forth on either turbo,a tad bit up and down but the residue kind of worries me(maybe barked a few to many times lol). but any ways they have probably 30,000 miles on them. what do you guys think? the oil level hasnt moved in 3,000 miles so it cant be consuming that much. but anyways if it is something to worry about who should i send them to?i would like to have the turbos ceramic coated aswell so maybe now is the time to do it. thanks in advance matt

Could be coming of your filter if you are using an oiled filter. A little is nothing to worry about, if it starts getting really coated or you find play then start worrying.

htt good to work with IMO . be carefull w/coating tolerence is close no room for error in most cases ,if it binds its junk! may take ur motor with it!

that oil coating is fine and isn't going to cause any problems. it's from your air filter

thanks for the info guys. i know little about turbos so your opinions are priceless to me. i talked to gillett diesel today about the coatings and they said they can do it (hpc coatings is next door to them).
