I have a 2002 2500 Quadcab with 79,000 miles and I have never been able to predict when I need to change brake pads. I use the truck as a daily driver and it rarely tows or carries anything heavy and I drive 55 - 60 mph always. If you have a formula or other ideas give me some input. Thanks

When the wear tabs on the pads start to squeak.

I got 75k miles out of my fronts and 80k out of my rears on my 01. 5 2500.

My '97 still has the original pads @ 115,000 miles with at least half left. This truck has towed heavy for years. My '06 has original pads @ 60,000 miles and pads look like new.

I check brakes every time I rotate tires (every 10K). They usually need it every 65k or so on the automatic, but you can never be too safe when it comes to brakes, so I check them very regularly.

280k on my current fronts with lots of life left and 402k on original rears with over half left. About 260k of those miles were OTR towing about 45% of the time. Manual with e-brake and easy on brakes in general... I take a look when I have the wheels off for other things. Lots of daily driving before OTR on the rears.
