Competition how to disable defueling above 2700???

Competition Big Rear Tire

hello

i am going to have to ship my truck in a container, so i can only lift it so much. and the worst thing in the world would be to get to the shipping company and not have it fit.

if i could get you guys to measure from the ground to the tallest point on your truck it would be a HUGE help to me.

lifts like 4. 5in w/ 35in tires

6in lift and 36/37in tires

7in lift and 37/38 in tires

im sure you get the point.

thank you very much i appreciate your time and effort.

I had a thought about it that you might not want to be maxed out with the height. If there is some bumping in the handling of the continer, you'll know about it on your roof.

One option would be something to compress hold the suspension a bit during transit. (Just another wierd thought that came to me)

I think you need to slow down and think about this. Why not just wait on any kind of lift till you get where you are going?? Why bother yourself with this senseless bull crap.

why not wait.

i would like to have fun with the truck while i am here and the lift and tires would deffinetly help with that. also i cant really wait till it gets here to lift it cause the thing has to come back home with me. in the same box. i mean on the way back i can send the larger tires back seperate and run factory on it to size it down. but that wont work on the way over cause i cant ship the bigger tires.

also on base here the tools and resources are nothing to write home about so installing the lift here isnt a good idea, and going out in town i would have to get a small loan to pay for labor alone. so i was just curious how tall the truck would be with different lifts on it is all. thank you

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but with 2" up front and 1" in the rear with 33's, it's 79" to the top of my cab. Just something to give you a start.

Now that I think about it, you need to leave the truck just the way it came off the dealer's lot. Since you're serving our country, and have to ship your possesions around, it would be just "senseless bull crap" to lift it.

I can appreciate the difficulty of overseas shipping/customs of both truck and any parts you want to install when you get there. If it's easier to do as an assembly, then by all means do it.

My truck is 83" with 3" lift in the front and true 36" tires - that seems to agree with Brian's measurements too. I think it looks proportionally correct and is a good balance of cost, driveability, looks, etc.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

I have the 4. 5" skyjacker lift with 37" PJ tires and i sit right at 83" I also have a 7" lift getting shipped to me any day now. have you bought your lift yet we could talk some good prices. :D

Where are you shipping this truck to? If you are going to Europe, they drive all of the vehicles onto the ship and then drive them right off. After they take them off the ship, if there are no transports there, it will be parked until one can take it to where you need it. They (Traffic Management Office) will tell you the size you have to work with. If it is over that size, you have to pay a little extra. A 3/4 CC/QC short box 4x4 is right at the limit. Anything over that is over what the Government will pay for.

If you have any other questions you can't get answered, PM me and I will do my best to answer them.

None of us know the situation, but I think you could offer your ideas in a better way. (It's a good thought--Maybe he *could* wait--Maybe not)

Seems like all the posts I've seen from you lately are of a hostile, antigonistic nature. Try to lighten up a bit.

I know that you are worried about the height. But something else to think about is the width. Cantainers are 8 feet wide. there isn't much clearance on the inside for a 2500. A 3500 won't fit. Even if it does fit suspension travel could allow the truck to hit the sides.

I'm assuming that the military is covering shipping if it can fit into a container versus a RORO (roll on roll off) shipment. Correct?

Now on to your question, I can't speak to a CTD with a lift, but consider airing the tires down when you load the container. You don't want them flat but they do not need to be fully inflated either. Tying down will compress the suspension, some. However, suspension compression doesn't help you get the truck into the container. Make sure you leave a little space between the roof of the truck and the top of the container.

As suggested earlier, check the width especially with large tires and low back spaced aftermarket rims. Not much you could change about that.

If you're talking about Europe, you other option is to leave you truck stock and get a Mog once you're there. You can get a diesel and then you can play with the big dogs off road.

right you are. they are paying for it to be shipped.

i am just trying to see what i can get away with so i dont set my self up to not fit. the truck isnt lifted yet. so like i said i am checkin first is all.

a mog would be fun but i can afford to have both :( dont make enough money. so i will do what i can with the one. thank you for your responces

size of the box

the box the truck has to be shipped in is (h)101" by (w) 91"

so i can do what i want hieght wise :D but now i need to find out how wide the truck would be with like 10" rims and 14. 50 tires. i know someone knows. thank you for continuing to help a guy out.

Width--my truck is 92" wide with the standard power mirrors. even folded in it is 86" not much room for side sway. Wider tires with less offset wheels could be too wide.
