I've removed all of the screws from the headlight unit and can't seem to get them out. They're loose & rattle around but are hung up on something. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bob

There are some plastic alignment pins that go into the body. The first light I took out came out no problem, but the second one was hung up on that pin

The pin has fins that come out sort of like an arrow head and the blades come back. They don't go all the way back to the base though so the body can get between the "fins" and the bracket causing it to hang up. I ended up breaking one of mine off trying to get the second light out.

I got them out. They were pivoting in the upper right and left corners. There are a couple of recepticles that receive the male studs on the headlight assembly in each upper, corner. What a pain. I think it would be even more of a pain if an after market bumper were installed which I plan to do as soon as I figure out which bumper.

Thanks,

Bob

A royal pain with the Buckstop. I had to get one out chasing a right headlight flickering issue. It turned out to be the ground wire screwed into the inner fender by the passenger battery.

i think it actually shows this one in the manual

Well, it kind of does. The pics aren't exactly like my truck and neither the owner's manual or the shop manual mention the little stud that the headlight assembly "hangs-uo" on.

Duct tape the area below the headlight when you remove it to protect the finish, especially if its painted;) ,there's a nasty adjuster screw that will mess you up
