I'm running BFG MT 315's at stock height and can't take the control arm rubbing anymore :{ I did a search and it seems that a 2" leveling kit cures the problem for some people, and adjusting the steering stops obviously works for everyone, plus it's free ;). I can't seem to find any info on how to adjust them though. haven't gotten around to getting a good service manual yet, just hoping someone here can kinda talk me through it

The first gen had bolts to adjust. My 2001 only has cast in stops with no bolts. Maybe you could weld these up? They are not exactly a stressed item.

I haven't looked at mine to even know if it would work, but could you drill and tap them to put a bolt in? The head alone would might be enough.

Not enough meat for a drill and tap. It needs at least a 3/8 bolt.

You (or someone) could weld it in place, then just grind away what you don't need. The thickness of a bolt head would be too much. I think a 3/16" build up would make a large change.

Buy 285. :) A 2" lift will not stop rubbing on the control arms. Only wheels with more offset will cure this. However you can only run different offsets with the lift or you will change it from rubbing the control arms to rubbing a hole in the fender.

So much for that idea. At least now I won't have to go out and look to see if it would work. :D
