Simple question. Doing as much reading/research as possible before diving into an AFC and 3KGSK install sometime next week. Obviously the GSK requires barring the engine. I've seen the tools and heard the techniques of using the alternator pulley.

Question. Do you have to pull an injector line(s)? I haven't come across that part until I noticed this as a step in my Haynes shop manual.

Any particular risks/possibilities of damage to the motor that one technique has over another?

Otherwise I'm about full of enough bravery to tear into my beast and make it faster.

Thanks in advance fellas,

Gill

The alternator will work fine for the GSK. If you were playing with timing you'd need the real barring tool but the timing kit contains one.

You might have to remove a line or two to do the afc kit (I do the GSK through the side) but they are just an inverted falir fitting. Be real careful about keeping them (and the parts the attach to) clean though.

A quick bit of advise: put the Chiltons on e-bay and get the real manual, best money you could spend.

Yep. They(and Haynes) are really only good for the pictures/drawings. Still need to get a REAL manual.
