My last three trucks got 58mph in second up against the governor for about 10 miles or so. It always took the little ticking and clicking noises away. But running with a load will create more heat to burn things off. With a stock truck you should never have to worry about exhaust temps.



Just to clarify a bit... 2nd. . or did you mean 3rd gear?
 
With all the stuff you already have you might consider water injection for 2 reasons. To keep your EGT's in check and secondly it does rid your engine of carbon.



Did you ever take a Coke bottle and slowly use it to pour water in your gasoline carburetor to get rid of carbon? That was fairly common in the old muscle car days!

All I can say is 6 min against the governor on a stock truck would not hurt a thing or something is wrong to began with. You ought to be able to do that with a load! I am sure its better for it with the load. Stock truck! I just wish sag2 worked at my dealer and I knew his secret identity.
