JR,

I was wondering how the new trailer was. Lake Chatauqua is a 45 minute drive from us. Have spent many days on my small power boat there. Have never camped there, however, so no help on campgrounds.

Let me know if interested in other areas around there.

Mike,

Thanks for offer on dimensions. I'll put a tape on my turd-toter. I don't recall the capacity now; I know that I ordered the turd-toter in a size that holds more than the black tank. I figured that was a good idea in case one gets distracted when emptying the black tank into the turd-toter. I could just see that running all over my shoes!

Thanks!

Mine will make a cute little brown fountain out the breather hole. Ask me how I know that...............looks like the sewage geyser on the movie "RV', only a lot smaller....

Smallest grandson saw it happen, hasn't been quite right since.....:D

Trailers been great, thanks. Although we haven't had the opportunity to travel very far yet, the last few weekends have been really busy with a family reunion, wedding, and a birthday. We have trailered to a fairly local place twice just to run it through its paces. I'd be very interested in any recommendations you might have in PA/NY.
You can PM me if it would be better for you.
Thanks!

Okay Guys, you haven't answered my question yet in your discussion. If your campground doesn't have a dump station, what do you do with a full tote?(a cubic ft. of water weighs 62 lbs) Where I camp the nearest dump is 20+ miles away. I don't think those little wheels are going to make it that far. That has been my question all along. Where do you dump it and how do you get it there, if there is no dump station in the campground. In my neck of the woods, most FS campgrounds as well as state campgrounds do not have hook ups. It is true dry camping. Someone needs to make something that you can carry in the back of your truck to haul the "dirty goods" off to the nearest dump station. It would require a pump to get the "dirty goods" from the tank to the truck. These plastic totes do not work in this situation with gravel roads. I see totes strapped to the ladders on RVs and I assume that there must be dump stations close to the camp sites where these people are staying, otherwise they are of no use.

Where I have considered staying, including National Forest campgrounds, have dump stations; I have yet to encounter the situation you describe.

I have read about: the turd-toter is placed securely in the truck bed. Some type of macerator pump (the FloJet is the one I have read about) grinds and pumps the contents of the RV tank(s) into the turd-toter in the bed of the truck. Drive to the dump station, dump, and return. I assume you would carry the macerator pump feed hose in a bin and rinse well while at the dump station (as well as rinsing the turd-toter and hose well).

Never done it; never seen it done; have only read about. Seems like it would work.

No, I was slaving away in Bangor on Weds. We have one more trip before winterizing and putting it away for the winter.

Winterizing and putting it away for the Winter ? What's that :-laf
I will probably be waxing the 5ver about Feb, March or April. The downside for me is it's still on the 100's for the foreseeable future

I have used the macerator for quite a few years and have pumped up to 75' thru a Gray water 1/2" hose. It does work very well, I have not used the usual dump hose for somewhere between 7-10 years. When I am done with the black tank the Gray tanks clean the macerator and hose. I have not used the Toter tho. Sounds like a crappy job but easier than taking the whole rig.

Hey Mike, you might want to check that left taillight. Looks defective to me!!! :-laf :-laf :-laf

This is how I carry mine, a bicycle carrier that I had laying around from years ago. I can get you better pics when I get home. The arms come out perfectly under each turd toter wheel spindle. I BELIEVE that mine is a 20 gallon. Will post pic in a minute, there is one on my phone that I will upload..
