Got the "lamp out" warning light on the dash with a chime. Wife helped me check and there are 3 bulbs out (of the four) for the tail lights. Stopped by the local NAPA and grabbed a couple. Headed out this morning with my trusty phillips screwdriver and what the... ?

I don't happen to have my FSM manual here at work. Anybody give me a hint on how to get the tail light lense off? I didn't see any exposed screws or tabs... Thanks

You have to drop the tailgate to see the screws. Remove them, then the lens will kind of snap out of the bed. I had a lamp out warning a few months ago and bought the replacement bulbs, only to find out after I replaced it that the problem was in the mounting board for the lamp. Checked with the good folks on this board and learned that that mounting board tends to get hot and burn the contacts out. That was my problem, and I ended up having to take a trip to the dealer to get it fixed.

Yep it doesn't use Phillips either it is a Torx head screw(I think it is #5). Two screws and then pop rubber grommet things on the outboard side of light that go straight in from the rear, be careful pulling you must go straight or they will break off (~$120 lens) then there are 4 phillips screws holding a circuit board thing to the lens.

In the process of trying to get mine working now replaced the bulb but it does not light and I stil have the lamp out on dash lite up. I think the circuit board thing went bad.

Had a couple minutes and found the torx nuts. No sweat, thanks. But I couldn't get the lens out. Tried some gentle pressure but didn't want to break it. I dropped it at the dealer this am for the 60k service and casually mentioned I didn't get around to changing the bulbs, but they were on the seat. They cheerfully said they'd take care of it no charge. Nice to hear for a change, these guys seem pretty good.

Thanks for the help.
