Truck is a 2001. 5 6 spd with stock air box and true flow foam filter. I was curious as to what options there were to get stock turbo (hx35) to spool up more quickly. I have 4 inch exhaust and that coupled with the foam filter element seemed to help a decent amount, just curious if there were other things to try/think about to improve this some more. Seems a buddy's truck spools up very quickly. He has a uni filter plumbed like a BHAF and a Mad ECM. Didn't know if these were the reasons his spooled so quickly or if it had to do with his auto trans.

The MAD CaTCHER will definitely speed the spool. I ported my exhaust turbine housing also & that seemed to help as well.

It's the ECM. It can bring the fuel a LOT faster than stock (or any other electronic mod for that matter), so your spoolup is night and day different.

I ported my turbine housing too, but must have goofed as I didn't see faster spoolup, just slightly lower EGT.

Get you a MAD ecm and some F1 injectors that will make it spool!! will bring the bottom end to life.

Boy ain't that the truth!!!! Get a cold-air intake also, the thing will sound like a jet engine!! Mine lights the tires up as soon as the boost comes up, you have to be real careful when it's slick out :D

The last shipment of catcher ecm's was sent back from marco on 12/09/05

The plan is to move to the next level.

stay tuned ...

Hi Bob, would my truck need to be down while my stock ecm is being programed or is there another way? I don't 'intend' to go any farther than Marco's magic but we'll see.

Bob I have been talking back and forth to ya for awhile with what you are saying on the next level should I wait until that to change my truck or just go with the in stock one now? You can PM me if you do not want to discuss it here. Thanks.
