I just installed a Bully Dog aluminized 4" exhaust on my '97. How do I hang the tailpipe since there is no place to attach the crappy hangers that they supply? Is there a part at the dealer to get to allow the hanger to work?

BTW, I wouldn't buy a Bully Dog exhaust again. I since discovered that I can get a MBRP stainless system for about the same money. The Bully Dog muffler already had rust spots and the hangers looked like they would last about two winters. Live and learn!

Id give Rip a call 1-866-211-1533 he has systems that come with hangers that you can move and put were you want. They have a U bolt so you can adjust it were you want and the end of the hanger goes right were the stock one did. He might be able to get you just that hanger :)

I just installed a 4 inch MBRP SS T409 4inch turbo back from www.xtremediesel.com for $474 and free shipping. The system already has the hanger rods welded in the right place to fit the stock hangers. I didn't even have to cut the extension pipe.

I did have to buy a hanger kit HG6100 from www.dieselperformanceparts.com for $30 to hang the tailpipe section and I had to drill holes in the frame siderail for the hanger  . The system fit beautifully. Here is a link for the hanger:

I also went to NAPA and bought 3 SS T305 band clamps ($10 apiece) in place of the exhaust clamps, so it will come apart easy next time... they don't leak and worked great. I had to hacksaw the old exhaust out cause the exhaust clamps crimp the pipes together so bad... the band clamps eliminate the crimping effect of the exhaust clamps.

Sorry to hear of the trouble with your exhaust. Maybe someone will have a solution for you.

Good luck,

Dave
